Jimmie Lee Hinton, affectionately known by all who loved him as "Popo," left this world on September 4, 2025, at the age of 63. His journey began on July 22, 1962, in the small town of Jefferson, TX, where the roots of his vibrant and loving personality first took hold. Though he passed away in Marshall, TX, Jimmie's spirit and legacy will forever be woven into the fabric of both communities. Jimmie's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene Eldridge Hinton, who stood by his side in love and partnership throughout the years. Together, they raised a family that was the very picture of warmth and unity. His daughter, Shana Shields, and her husband, Nathan, along with their children, Adam and Emmy, Finnley and Ireland, brought him immense joy. His son, Aaron Hinton, and his wife, Alix, and their children, Everett and the eagerly anticipated Baby Hinton, due in March 2026, were the pride of his life. Jimmie's sister, Angel Canaday, and her husband, Ralph, also share in the legacy of his kind-hearted nature. Jimmie's parents, Linda and Tommy Hinton, and his brother, Mark Hinton, preceded him in death. They paved the way for the man he would become, and their memory was a guiding light throughout his life. Professionally, Jimmie was known as a steadfast and reliable truck driver, a career that allowed him to touch the lives of countless individuals across the miles. His commitment to service shone brightly through his role as a volunteer firefighter, a testament to his desire to protect and serve the community he held so dear. Though health issues eventually required him to retire, the impact of his work ethic and selfless nature left an indelible mark on all who worked alongside him. Beyond his work and service, Jimmie was a man of many passions. He loved the Lord and was a follower of Christ. He found solace in the roar of a motorcycle engine, the laughter-filled air of weekend cookouts, and the resonant strings of a well-played guitar. Yet, above all else, his true passion lay with his family. Jimmie's happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his wife, his children and grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his boundless love and infectious sense of humor. Jimmie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the unbreakable bonds of family. He navigated life's highways with a steady hand and a generous heart, leaving behind memories that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were privileged to know him.
