Jeannette Bolton Life Story

Jeannette Bolton was born in St. Petersburg, FL on November 25th, 1927 to Oliver and Stella Coppins. When the war broke out, she went to Norfolk, VA to volunteer work as a secretary. Little did she know that her boss, a handsome young Captain Malcolm Bolton swept her off her feet and married her on January 3, 1947 in St. Petersburg, FL, shortly after his discharge from the Army.

She was proceeded in death by Malcolm in 2006 after nearly 60 years of marriage. She was also proceeded in death by her brothers Harold Coppins and Ted Johnson. She is survived by son Gary Bolton and wife Kathy, Daughter Gail Niver and husband Jason, grandsons Garrett Mayeaux and Derreck Mayeaux., and lots of nieces & nephews.

Jeannette was a busy lady who enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, sewing, going on cruises, and reading. Her specialty was making baby blankets, Christmas stockings and even satin pillowcases. Word has it that one of her 34-year-old nieces still sleeps with hers! She enjoyed bird watching and ironing her sheets and was known for sending everyone Christmas and birthday cards and she never missed a beat. Family meant everything to her!
The highlight of her life was being a Grandma, including a Band Grandma. Many days you could find her in the New Diana Band Concession Stand with her eyes sparkling and her face glowing because she was with her band kids.

One thing Jeannette loved more than life itself was all things Texas A&M. She loved going to watch her grandsons play in the Fighting Texas Aggieband. When she couldn’t be there, she watched it on tv, hoping to catch a glimpse of them in the stands. She was truly an “honorary” Aggie!

As a mom, she was so involved. She sponsored everything (cheerleading, bluebirds, dance carpools, etc…) and made most of Gail’s clothes and all her ballet costumes. She could always be found at all her Son’s sports activities and made many trips to OU and Texas A&M following her Son, Daughter, and Grandsons.

If you ever spent any time talking with her, you would soon find the conversation turning away from her and back toward you. Jeannette was not a selfish person. She was very much outwardly focused. She loved to visit and was a good listener. She was a kind friend to everyone.
The one thing everyone knew about Jeannette, was she made the most fabulous & famous “Hypocrite Pie”!

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday December 12, 2019 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Garden Court. A Life Celebration funeral service will be held Friday December 13, 2019 at 10:00am, following with a procession to Fisher Historical Cemetery on Silver Falls Road to conclude with graveside.
