We celebrate and honor the life of Jean Gay Stovall, affectionately known to her friends and family as Jeannie. Born on February 9th, 1943 in Alton, Illinois. Jeannie was a beacon of love and faith until her heavenly departure on March 24, 2024, in Longview, Texas.
Jeannie was a woman of great virtue, whose life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith. She walked through this world with a grace that was unmistakable, touching the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Jeannie's presence was a source of comfort and joy, and her legacy is one of compassion and kindness.
Her commitment to her family was unwavering, a loving mother to her cherished daughter, Christine Beville, and a guiding light to her son-in-law, Lewis. She beamed with pride for her grandsons, Mason and Alec, and her heart swelled with joy for her great-grandson, Zayn. Together with Alec's wife, Tatym, who she adored, they formed a family circle that was unbreakable and filled with love.
Jeannie's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in attending church, where she lifted her voice in praise and worship, and where she formed enduring friendships that were a wellspring of mutual support and affection. Her faith-filled spirit was a source of inspiration to all who were blessed to share in her journey.
As we reflect on Jeannie's life, we remember a woman who was the epitome of thoughtfulness. She never missed an opportunity to share a kind word or lend a helping hand. Her loving nature and thoughtful deeds were rays of light in the lives of many, a reflection of the love she received from her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jeannie's journey through this life was marked by the challenges of dementia. Yet, even as her memory faded, the essence of her spirit remained intact, a testament to the enduring power of love and the human spirit.
Today, as we bid farewell to Jeannie, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared with her. We are comforted by the knowledge that she is now resting in the arms of our Lord, free from all earthly troubles. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Let us rejoice in the life of Jean Gay Stovall, a truly loving and faith-filled woman, who lived thoughtfully and loved abundantly. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to guide us until we meet again at the Lord's table. Amen.
