Janet Hunt Life Story

Janet Carole Hunt, a cherished soul adorned with love and faith, departed from this earthly realm on August 22, 2025, at the age of 77, after a valiant battle with liver cancer. Born on July 12, 1948, in the heart of Longview, Texas, she was a beacon of joy and kindness throughout her life, and it was there, in her beloved hometown, that she peacefully drew her last breath.

Janet's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with dedication, compassion, and unwavering faith. She was a graduate of cosmetology school, where she not only honed her skills but also cultivated a community of friends and clients alike. Janet's hands were gifted in creating beauty, not just through her work as a hairdresser but also in the warmth she extended to all who crossed her path. She was also known for her diligent work as a clerk and stocker, where her reputation as the most honest and hardworking employee preceded her.

In her personal life, Janet was the embodiment of love. She was a mother to three wonderful children, Dennis Freeman, Donnie Freeman, and Chastity Quick, who each learned the virtues of kindness and perseverance from their beloved mother. Her legacy further blossomed with her five grandchildren, David Gonzalez, Joshua Freeman, Nathan Freeman, Abygayle Garrison, and Zuri Garrison, and she was blessed to see the joy of four great-grandchildren, Makhia Freeman, Alexia Freeman, Jasmine Freeman, and Noah Freeman. Each of them was a testament to Janet's boundless love and the values she instilled.

Janet's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She found solace and strength in reading her Bible and had a passion for sharing the light of God with others through daily devotionals. Her commitment to her religion was evident in her selfless acts and the grace with which she faced life's challenges.

An avid bird watcher, Janet's delight in the simplicity and beauty of God's creation was evident. The tranquility she found in this pastime was a reflection of her inner peace and contentment. Her life was one of service, not only to her family but also to her community and church, where she was a steadfast member.

Those who knew Janet would say she was the epitome of a loving, faith-filled, and selfless individual. Her presence was a comforting embrace to the weary and a guiding light to the lost. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart." Janet lived this truth every day, touching the hearts of those around her with her kindness and compassion.

Today, as we reflect on the life of Janet Carole Hunt, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. Her spirit, though no longer in our midst, continues to resonate within the lives of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. We take comfort in knowing that she has found eternal peace and rejoice in the promise that we will one day be reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Janet's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and faith, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched.
