James Iliff Life Story

Mr. James L. Iliff, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and loved ones, was a beacon of light and a testament to a life well-lived. Born on July 24, 1954, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jim embraced the world with a joyous heart and an unwavering spirit. On January 3, 2026, in Canton, Texas, he completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jim's life was a portrait of dedication and service. After completing his education at Marshall Texas High School, he embarked on a successful entrepreneurial journey, founding Iliff & Associates Inc., a roof consulting business that thrived under his leadership for over two decades. His work was not just a career but a calling, as he built not only roofs but also relationships, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Jim's interests were a reflection of his love for life and creation. He found peace and purpose in tending to his Beulah Land Ranch, a place where nature's beauty and God's grace were in harmonious display.

To describe Jim, one would use words like loving, thoughtful, and faith-filled. He was a man who walked through life with an open heart, always ready to listen, to comfort, and to uplift those around him. His life's story is a testament to the power of love, the strength of faith, and the unending grace of God. His commitment to his Christian faith was the cornerstone of his existence. Jim lived his beliefs through every action, every word, and every interaction. He was a man of prayer, a follower of Christ's teachings, and a living example of the Gospel's love and compassion.

Jim was the cherished husband of Louella Iliff for over 44 years, a bond that was fortified by love, respect, and shared faith. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, always finding strength in each other. He was a brother to Karen Goulden, with whom he shared an unbreakable sibling bond. As a father, Jim was a guiding star to Shane, Mandi, William, Tamara, and Kathleen, imparting wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love. His grandchildren, Cole, Alex, Andrew, Kaitlyn, and Jessa, were the apples of his eye, and he delighted in their every achievement and milestone.
