Jacklyn Furrh Life Story

Jacklyn Nell Boyles Furrh (Gran)
The end is only the beginning. Jacklyn Nell Boyles Furrh took her Savior's hand as she stepped into heaven on August 12, 2025. Visitation is on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Cypress Valley Bible Church. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. Jackie was born on October 7, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Jack Evans Boyles and Nellie Horn Boyles. She attended Dallas public schools, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947.
While attending North Texas State University, Jackie met Bobby Wayland Furrh and married him on June 3, 1948 in Dallas. Bobby rarely addressed Jackie by her given name but affectionately referred to her either as "honey" or "housewife". They made their home in Marshall, Texas and were blessed with two sons, Scotty and Kyle. Jackie's primary ambition in life of being a wife and mother was now fulfilled.
Jackie and Bobby (an MHS and NTSU football player) were avid sports fans and supported Marshall youth athletics. Jackie was a loyal spectator at Marshall High School and East Texas Baptist University sporting events for decades. However, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren compete in various sporting events was Gran's favorite pastime as her cheers could always be heard above all. Not only did her grandchildren know her as "Gran," but all of their friends fondly called her Gran as well.
She was employed by First Federal Savings and Loan Association from 1963 to 1977 and Marshall Federal Savings and Loan Association from 1977 until her retirement as Assistant Vice-President in 1990.
Worshiping with her church family at Cypress Valley Bible Church became the highlight of Jackie's week. She served as interim treasurer and volunteered in Kid's Life and the video taping ministry. Enriching her Biblical knowledge, she attended the Waterford Girls Sunday School Class, Wednesday morning Bible study, and Sunday night Lord's Supper. She also loved playing dominos with her group the "Dominettes!"
On April 4, 1990, after 42 years of marriage, Bobby went to be with the Lord. Also preceding Jackie in death were her mother and father, her sister and brother-in-law Bobbette and Battle Turner, and her mother and father-in-law Elizabeth and Haywood Furrh.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Scotty and Vikki Furrh and Kyle and Jeannie Furrh; five grandchildren Jacklyn (Kyle) Tatge, Scott (Emily) Furrh, Duncan Furrh, Drew Furrh, and John Furrh; thirteen great-grandchildren, (Jacklyn) Ethan Tatge, Kaitlyn Tatge, (Scott) Drake (Riley) Furrh, Jackson Furrh, Connor Furrh, Gavin Furrh, Asher Furrh and Olivia Furrh, (Duncan) Bobby Furrh, (Drew) Charley Rae Furrh and Chandler Furrh, (John) Axel Furrh and Skye Furrh; two great-great-grandchildren (Drake) Elias Furrh and August Furrh. She is also survived by two very special nieces Terrie Ann (Dick) Russell and Patricia Nell Turner (Jerry Kelley).
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons Scott Furrh, Duncan Furrh, Drew Furrh and John Furrh and her great-grandsons Drake Furrh, Jackson Furrh, Ethan Tatge, Connor Furrh and Gavin Furrh.
Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Tatge, Clifford Scott, Spencer Anderson, Chris Furrh, Cal Gaines, Mike Woodfin, Dick Russell, Jerry Kelley and Bob Faust.
Special thanks to Jackie's caregiving family including Helen Bailey, Melody Buffin, Linda Rider, Marguerite Walton, Emma Williams, Kayla Hale, Kayla Cantu and Brenda Abrahoam for their prayerful, loving care as they nurtured her body, spirit and soul. Thanks to all of the Reunion Inn staff, Heart's Way Hospice, and Emma Ritter, FNP for their contributions to Jackie's care.
Memorials may be made to Cypress Valley Bible Church. Flowers will be permitted.
