Henry Jordan Life Story

Henry “Hank” Charles Jordan, Jr. of Longview, Texas, took his first steps into Heaven on June 17, 2019, as he passed away in the presence of his loving wife.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Joy Jordan; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Robert Morgan, and Laura and Mark Davis; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abigail, Allison, and Tristan. He also is leaving a loving brother-in-law and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews. He also leaves the family dog, Picante, who sat loyally by his side for many years.
Henry was born December 11, 1928, in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal from 1950 to 1952. He was a proud military veteran, and we thank and remember him for his service. At the University of Texas, Henry earned a B.A. in Public Affairs in 1955 and was a golfing champion. His picture still hangs in honor of his achievement. He was a dedicated employee at GTE in Public Affairs and Communications for upwards of 29 years. He was a man of many trades, and his life experiences were vast.
In his free time, he spent many years as an avid golfer, achieving over 17 holes-in-one. He also enjoyed listening and singing along to various types of music. Most importantly, he enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family, telling his stories and words of wisdom.
Henry loved his wife and family immensely but knew greater things were ahead for him as the Lord now welcomes him with open arms with praise. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His contributions will affect generations to come. He will be missed for his stories, his songs and for most of all, his warm presence.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, “Poppop” to his grandchildren, and an amazing man to all he met.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
