Harold Douglas Warren, affectionately known as "Douglas" to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at his home in Marshall, Texas, on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 15, 1946, in Marshall, Texas, Douglas lived a life of service, strength, and deep devotion to those he loved. A proud Pemberton High School graduate, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After serving for four years, he received an honorable discharge. He began a new chapter in California, where he worked as a Supervisor of Aircraft Mechanics at Norris Industries. This role reflected his precision, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Douglas was the proud father of six children: Lionel, Darryl, Harold, Michael, Eric, and Jovanka. In August 2005, he returned to his hometown of Marshall, Texas, where he reconnected with his roots and later rekindled a cherished friendship with his childhood friend, Brenda Gayle Stanton. Their bond blossomed into a loving partnership, and on February 13, 2017, they united in marriage. Through this union, Douglas also became a devoted stepfather to Brenda's six children, embracing them with warmth and grace. A man of quiet strength and deep faith, Douglas was a faithful member of the Westside Church of Christ, where he found spiritual strength and a sense of community. Those who knew him will remember him for his unwavering spirit, his gentle demeanor, and the love he shared with all who knew him. Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William Sr. and Ruth Warren; his brothers Edward, William III, and James; and his sister Myrtle. Douglas is survived by his sisters Mildred and Karen, his brother Melvin (Queen), and a large and loving extended family and friends. His legacy of service, love, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those blessed to have known him.
