Glenda Land Life Story

Glenda Lee Land passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on February 16, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas, to Gerald and Arna Williams. Glenda's life was characterized by her infectious friendliness, her keen sense of humor, and her unwavering faith.
Glenda was a proud graduate of Kilgore High School, where her spirited nature shone brightly. She furthered her education at Kilgore College, where she left a lasting impression as a world-famous Rangerette, embodying the grace and discipline of dance which remained a lifelong passion. After her time at Kilgore, she dedicated many years of service as a secretary within the Longview Independent School District, where her work ethic and jovial personality made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and the many lives she touched.
More than her professional accomplishments, Glenda will be remembered for the love and laughter she brought into the world. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, and it was in this space of growth and beauty that she found great solace and joy. Glenda's love of dance never waned, and she could often be found moving to the rhythm of life, whether in her living room or amongst friends and family.
Faith played a central role in Glenda's life, and she was very active at Wesley United Methodist Church. Her faith-filled soul inspired many, and her contributions to the church community reflected the depth of her commitment to living a life of service and kindness.
Glenda's greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a loving mother to her son, Johnny Land, and his wife Nikki, and to her daughter, Sheri, and her husband Doug Finn. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, showering her grandson Ethan Land and his wife Alexa, granddaughter Taylor Land, Grandson John Garrett Finn and his wife Maddie, granddaughter Alyssa Lee Finn, and great-granddaughter Genevieve Land with boundless love and affection. She is also survived by her dear brother, Buddy Williams as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss her profoundly.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Land as well her parents.
Those who knew Glenda will remember her as the epitome of friendliness, always ready with a warm smile or a comforting embrace. Her humor was a source of joy and laughter in any gathering, and her faith-filled nature provided a foundation of strength and hope to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
As we bid farewell to Glenda Lee Land, we celebrate a life abundantly lived and impactful. Her spirit was one of kindness, laughter, and faith, and will forever be a guiding light to those she has left behind. However, she was the first to give you a hard time when needed. Glenda's story is not one of an ending, but a beautiful reminder of the enduring power of love and the grace that she so effortlessly shared with the world.
