George Lee Lewis III, a devout Christian, cherished family man, and a friend to many, was called home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2025, at the age of 85, in Marshall, Texas. George was born on August 19, 1940, in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma.
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business from Louisiana Tech University, George dedicated many years of service to Small Business Administration, where he retired at an early age. He went on to establish his own firm, Lewis Financial Services, where he specialized in packaging loans for certified development companies - a service he faithfully provided until his health began to decline.
George's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devout member of his church, where he found great joy in fellowship with the Pairs and Spares group. His love for the Lord was evident in his actions and the kind words he shared with everyone he encountered. He lived his life as a testament to his beliefs, and his guidance was often sought by those who knew him.
Family was central to George's heart. He was a pillar of strength and love for his loved ones. Watching his grandchildren play sports brought him immense pride and joy. He was their most enthusiastic supporter, always at the games, cheering them on with a beaming smile.
An avid outdoorsman, George reveled in the beauty of God's creation. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, feeling a profound sense of peace while out on the open water. His adventurous spirit also led him on many memorable trips to Big Bend with his closest friends. These moments in nature were among his most cherished memories. Traveling was another of George's passions, especially when accompanied by his beloved wife and friends. Together, they explored new places, shared laughter, and created a lifetime of memories. These journeys were not just about the destinations but about the companionship and the bonds that were strengthened with every mile.
George's legacy is one of love, service, and faith. He touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his values. As we remember George, we are reminded of the lessons he imparted through his example: to love deeply, to help others selflessly, and to walk in faith. His life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Though we mourn his passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that George Lee Lewis III now rests in the eternal love and grace of our Heavenly Father.
George is proceeded in death by his father and mother, George Lee Lewis II and Mary Louise Lewis, his brother, Wade Lewis and son, Matthew Britt Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lewis, his loving kids, LeAnn and husband Bryan, Amy and husband Brandy, and son Lee and wife Melisa.
