George E. Kezerle, Jr., age 80, was born on May 2, 1944 in Somerville, Massachusetts to George and Margery Kezerle. He passed away on September 21, 2024 in Longview, Texas. In June, 1966, George married the love of his life, Jeanne (Smith) Kezerle and God blessed them with two sons, George E. Kezerle III and Brian Thomas Kezerle. George was a great man and highly respected by many that he also respected and loved. George enlisted in the U. S. Navy and proudly served our country for 23 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy in June, 1985 at the highest enlisted rank of E-9/Master Chief. After retirement, he graduated from Iowa State University and Capella University. George has been a man of many hats, some of which were as Safety Manager at Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant; Safety Consultant at Gregg Industrial on Eastman Plant; he established his own safety consulting business (KEZCO Safety Services); instructor at Texas State Technical College in Marshall; was a certified Lay Minister in the Methodist Church; and retired three times...U.S. Navy, IAAP and TSTC. His wife says, lovingly, "he practices retiring". Some of George's most passionate times were his role for many years as "Santa Claus" with the Wonderland of Lights parade and Santa's House in Marshall, Texas, Santa Storytime at Marshall, Texas Train Depot, Department of Safety and Fire Departments of Marshall, Texas and numerous other "Santa" related events. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne Kezerle; their sons, George E. Kezerle III and Brian Thomas Kezerle; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00pm at Hallsville Methodist Church with Shinia Kelsey officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1pm-2pm, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Hallsville Methodist Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.cammackfamily.com
