Gena (Grandstaff) Hoffmann

Gena Hoffmann, 79, passed away on October 5, 2024 Gena was born on August 27, 1945 to Eugenia J Herauf and Floyd Grandstaff in North Platte, Nebraska. She married William (Bill) Hoffmann in 1970. She was a teacher and had her masters in library sciences and was a rancher's wife. Her children, were the many students she taught over 40 years. She retired in 2004 and moved to Rapid City with her husband where they enjoyed the Black Hills very much.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Mike Grandstaff and nephew, Evan Hoffmann.

Survivors include her sister, Marilyn Kay Moulds, sister-in-law, Georgette (Andie) Grandstaff and four nieces, one nephew and 6 great nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation immediately after the visitation until 7:00 p.m.. Future services and burial will take place in Nenzel, Nebraska at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
