Frank McBride Life Story

Frank Curtis McBride joined the Lord on July 30, 2020, in Longview, Texas, one week shy of his 100th birthday, having been born on August 6, 1920.
Frank lived in Longview since 1946, where he was a longtime member of Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church. Frank retired from LeTourneau in 1987 after a career there spanning nearly forty years. A veteran of World War II, Frank served in the U.S Army Air Corps as a Technical Sergeant, spending over two years in Europe during the war. Frank was an Eagle Scout who attended the first National Jamboree in 1939. He served as a Cub Scout Pack Master and in numerous other adult leadership positions and was presented the Silver Beaver award in recognition of his unswerving devotion to Scouting. In retirement, Frank continued doing the Lord’s work well into his 90’s. He volunteered at Good Shepard Hospital, delivered Meals on Wheels, led Bible studies, and taught woodworking for many years during Wesley-McCabe’s Terrific Tuesday afterschool program.
Frank is survived by Della Ellis McBride, his wife of forty years, and children Phil McBride and wife Juanita of Lockhart, Texas, John McBride and wife Mary Jane of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Betsy Mowery of Tyler, Texas, and stepson Jim Ellis and wife Judy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His living legacy includes eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
