Ethan Patrick Guidroz, 22, of Longview, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Born on December 26, 2003, to his devoted parents, Gwendolyn Denise Johnson Guidroz and Paul Robert Guidroz, Ethan was a beloved son whose life was marked by compassion, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the beauty he found in both people and the world around him.
He was a loving, empathetic, and kind soul with a warm, welcoming smile and a quick wit that brought joy to those around him. Gifted with both intelligence and an artistic spirit, he found one of his greatest passions in music. He played trombone at Spring Hill High School, proudly earning a place in the 2018 State Marching Band competition. He also enjoyed playing guitar, using music as meaningful form of self-expression and connection.
As a child, Ethan loved swimming, skateboarding, and camping—especially with his Cub Scouts group and during the cherished Guidroz family Thanksgiving camping weekends. As he grew older, he continued to enjoy skateboarding, video games, and immersing himself in music.
Ethan longed for peace and cared deeply for others. He will be remembered for his gentle heart, his warmth, and the love he carried for his family and friends. May his memory inspire us to care for one another with the same compassion he showed, to foster greater understanding and openness around mental health, and to remember that help is available and hope endures.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Gwen Guidroz of Longview, Texas; his sisters, Mallory (Ben) Price of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Sydney (Kyle) Rice of Austin, Texas; his grandparents, Ralph Guidroz of Longview, Texas, and Joe and Barbara Johnson of Longview, Texas; his nephews, Bishop and Marshall Rice of Austin, TX; his aunts and uncles, Laura and Tom Leahy of Longview, Texas; Brenda Petro of Lafayette, Louisiana; Sara and Francis Fontana of League City, Texas; John and Kris Guidroz of Alexandria, Virginia; and Kent and Belinda Johnson of Longview, Texas; his cousins, Tom (Amanda) Leahy of Longview, Texas; Erin (Bryan) Saylor of Quaker Hill, Connecticut; Sean Leahy’s wife (Meghan) Leahy of Wrightstown, Wisconsin; Jessica (Josh) Rumlow of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; Bill (Crystal) Leahy of Quaker Hill, Connecticut; Robbie (Matt) LeFevre of Katy, Texas; Peter (Kristin) Fontana of Seabrook, Texas; Amelia (Vinny) Chiara of Houston, Texas; Evelyn Joy (James) Hoelscher of Round Rock, Texas; Michael (Jazlyn) Fontana of San Marcos, Texas; Cameron Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Collin Johnson of Seattle, Washington; and many extended family members and dear friends.
