Ellen Melissa (Myers) Wilson

Ellen Myers Wilson of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully from this life into an eternal one on April 30, 2021. Ellen was born to Buddy and Julia Myers in Hobbs, New Mexico on January 7, 1986.

At an early age, her parents established her foundation in the Christian faith at First United Methodist Church in Lovington, New Mexico. As a young girl, Ellen learned how to play the piano and saxophone, earning her several performance awards and first chair in band all through high school. Ellen loved flying with her dad, her passion and skill as a pilot carried into adulthood as one of her favorite hobbies.

Both intelligent and hard-working, Ellen had an exceptional academic career and a lifelong love of learning. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in biology with honors. In December 2009, she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. Shortly after receiving her license to practice law from the State Bar of Texas, Ellen started medical school with the University of North Texas and received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.

While in law school, Ellen met the love of her life, Matthew, and they were married on December 27, 2008. Together they had four beautiful children, and her legacy lives on through them. Ellen was bright, beautiful, and adventurous. She had a heart to love on people, and she was constantly scheming to find ways to bless people she knew that needed help. She rejoiced with those who rejoiced, and she mourned with those who mourned. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Matthew; children, Rose, Jillian, Benjamin and John; her parents Buddy and Julia Myers of Lovington, New Mexico; her sister Beth; her in-laws Wayne and Carolyn Wilson of Longview, Texas; eight brothers- and sisters-in-law; and twelve nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. A Life Celebration funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home.
