Born on June 8th, 1933 in Shelby County, Tx, Doyle Donice Hutto grew into someone known for his unique sense of humor, "iconic smile that is a fixture in the memories of all who knew him", and the ability to draw anyone in with his magnetic charm and uncommon wit. Don was known in his community as the neighborhood porch patrol; he had a contagious enthusiasm for life, and was a 'tough old coot'. Don was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 and carried that honor throughout his life. Don had an unusual education. He would often attend multiple schools to complete the academic year. Though he was not a high school graduate, he earned his GED twice! During his 24 years of service at Red River Army Depot, Don acquired multiple certifications. Upon retiring, he spent the next 43 years 'fine tuning' his skills as a 'Master Piddler'. Don had a lifelong love of classic Harleys, roaring hot rods, trains, and the heartfelt sounds of original country music. He found happiness in what truly mattered to him: spending time with his whole family, "supervising/inspecting" any and all projects, and his love for the Lord. Being called to serve as a deacon for his local congregation was the proudest and most humbling moment of his life. Don is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Hutto, son Raymond Hutto and wife Lisa, son Dean Hutto, and daughter Audrey Taylor and husband Charlie. Grandchildren: Ami Kay Brown, Ashley Royer and husband Brandon, Mindy Komar and husband Travis, granddaughters Kassi Gilliam and husband Michael, and Erynn Ham. Great grandchildren: Colby, Aubrey, Leigha, Abigail, Granger, Mason, Trace, and Charlotte. Great-great grandson: Konner James, and many beloved nieces and nephews each of whom carries forward his stories, wisdom, and love. Don is preceded in death by his cherished mother and dedicated father, along with his seven siblings. A celebration of life will be held on February 7th at 11am at Hallsville Church of Christ, 110 Waldron Ferry Road, Hallsville, TX, where friends and family will gather to remember, grieve, and honor the exceptional example of the life he lived. Interment will follow at 2pm at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 2603 County Road 3000, Joaquin, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Hallsville Church of Christ, reflecting Don's values and commitment to Christ. Don will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
