Dorothy Hogeland Life Story
Dorothy was born on May 17th,1937 to Hubert and Ruth (Summers) Wilson in the
Longview Gum Springs community. She attended Hallsville schools and later went on to working in the banking industry for 40 years and Neiman Marcus for 11 years.
She enjoyed reading a good novel, playing slots at the Casino boats in Shreveport, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She loved her Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers as well.
Dorothy bowled in a league for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her daughters, Lisa and husband Joe Lindsay and Gina Plath of Wisconsin grandsons, Joseph Lindsay and wife Amanda; Samuel Lindsay; Austin Plath and wife Miranda; one great granddaughter, Sophia Plath and great grandson due in January.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Gum Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Association.
