Donnie Ray Conway

Donnie Ray Conway, 68, of Naples, Texas, formerly of Longview, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Donnie Ray was born March 11, 1955, in Baytown, Texas, to Omah Lavale "Buck" Conway and Myrtle Louise Barton Conway.

Donnie Ray was a 1973 graduate of Longview High School. He was a retired computer programmer and a United States Navy Veteran, where he served as a Navy Corpsman who traveled the world with the 2nd Battalion 6th Marines during the Vietnam War. He was very proud of his military service. Donnie also loved gardening, woodworking, tinkering in his shop, and spending time with his family.

Donnie Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and two nieces, Catherine Ann "Cathie" Duncan and Angela Kay Duncan Cameron.

Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Conway Duncan; one niece, Carrie Duncan Bratcher & husband, Rev. David Bratcher; nephew in law, Don Cameron; three great nieces, Sarah Wright and Lily Wright of Naples; and Lauren Swafford of College Station, Texas; four great nephews, Henry Swafford of New York, New York; Will Swafford of Denver, Colorado; Michael Bratcher of Texarkana, Arkansas; and DW Bratcher of Texarkana, Texas.

A Life Celebration Memorial Service for Donnie Ray Conway will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 2:00 pm, in The Chapel of The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home in Longview, Texas ,with Rev. David Bratcher officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors one hour prior to the start of the service.
