David Snow Life Story

Dr. David R. Snow, born on August 15, 1937, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024, in Marshall, Texas. David's life was marked by his steadfast dedication to his family, his deep faith, and his lifelong commitment to serving others. His legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and the joy he found in simple acts of kindness.

The son of the late Violet and Elwin Snow, David was a beacon of light and strength within his family. His beloved wife, Dr. Carolyn Snow, predeceased him, leaving a cherished memory in the hearts of those who knew her. David remarried and is survived by his second wife, Jean Crawley. He was a loving father to his children, Richard Snow; the late Nancy Davis; Randall Snow; Amy Snow; and Russell Snow; as well as a caring father-in-law to Terry Davis and Alice Ann Snow. David's spirit will continue to live on through his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.

Among those who will fondly remember him are his grandchildren, Jami Alexander and her husband, Ken, Aaron Bonner; Jessica Wiler; Samantha Leade and her husband, Daniel; Ashley Christison and her husband, Mark; and Paul Allee and his wife, Miranda; and Michael Snow. His great-grandchildren, Khrystalynn Allen; Elizabeth Allen; Katelynn Bonner; Hailey Bonner; David Bonner; Caroline Wiler; Nathan; Braden; Alison; Luna; Freya; Zaira; Corvid; Zane; Abigail and Antwon; along with his great-great-grandchildren, Karsyn; Amari; Zaria; Montreal; and Marcel; will miss his gentle guidance and unconditional love. David also leaves behind his sisters, Joanne Slover and Linda Ogden; cousins and multiple friends who will cherish their shared memories.

Dr. Snow pursued a life of service, earning a Doctor of Ministry and working as a social worker, hospital chaplain, minister, and even finding time to explore mechanics and business ownership, creating Marshall My Friends House in 2008, with his late wife, Carolyn Snow, serving the homeless population up to his last breath. His passion for "refixing" homes was not just a hobby but an extension of his desire to provide for those in need, offering food and shelter without hesitation. His ministry was not confined to the pulpit; it was lived out in his daily actions and interactions with those around him.

David's talents extended to music, where he found solace and joy in playing the piano, organ and other instruments and singing hymns. His love for music was a testament to his belief in the power of worship and the comfort it brings to the soul. His voice, a familiar and comforting sound to his congregation and family, will be deeply missed.
Throughout his life, David's powerful faith guided his path to lead him through several denominations spreading the gospel. He was a pillar in his community, touching the lives of many with his generous spirit and heartfelt counsel. His work as a minister and chaplain reflected his profound understanding of the human spirit, and he provided solace to countless individuals during their most challenging moments.

As we bid farewell to Dr. David R. Snow, we celebrate a life rich in love, faith, and service. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with purpose and compassion. David's journey on earth may have concluded, but the warmth of his spirit remains with us, a comforting presence in the hearts of his family and all who were privileged to know him.
