Dallas Hubie Wilson, Jr. went to his Heavenly home on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the age of 96. He was born on March 6, 1923 to Dallas Hubie Wilson, Sr. and Willie Mae Lowe Wilson in Marshall, TX.
After high school, he attended the College of Marshall (now ETBC) and received a Radio Certification degree. He then joined the military during WWII in the Army Air Corps as an Infantryman stationed in the China/Burma/India Theater in Calcutta, India, working in a railroad battalion.
After returning from WWII, he remained in the Air Force Reserves. He worked for T&P Railroad in Marshall, TX, as an assistant signal man in 1945. He then worked as an electrician working at the Knox Lee Power Plant in Longview, TX, and then at the SWEPCO Lone Star Steel Plant in Lone Star, Texas. After retiring from SWEPCO, he returned to active duty as an Air Force recruiter stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. In 1983 he retired from the Air Force with the rank of Sr. Master Sergeant after 39 ½ years of service to his country. He was awarded numerous medals and decorations including the two Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.
He is survived by his children, daughter Kimberly Wilson Wiley and husband Tim, of Florence, KY, and son Norman Dallas Wilson, and wife Nancy, of Mt. Pleasant, TX. His grandchildren, Reid Lawrence Wilson and Jorja Faith Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, TX. Sisters Dorothy Mae Wilson Chandler of Longview, TX, and Sharon Kay Wilson of Crockett, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Dallas Hubie Wilson, Sr. and Willie Mae Lowe Wilson.
A full military honor memorial service is planned for Friday, June 7, 2019, 10:15 A.M. at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery.
