A memorial service for Dale Lynn Golding, of Marshall, will be held on Monday, September 22nd, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Marshall, TX, with Dr. Ryan Berryhill officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Dale was born on December 10, 1954 in Gatesville, TX to Joe Don and Doris Alford Golding. He grew up in Marshall and was a member of First Baptist. He met our Lord and Savior on September 8th and a private family burial was held on September 12th where he was laid to rest next to his parents in Algoma Cemetery. Dale was a 1973 graduate of Marshall High School, was an Eagle Scout and received two Congressional nominations to West Point. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1978 with a BBA in Management. While in college, he served as vice president of the Baptist Student Union and went on two summer mission trips. He always had a desire to share the love of Jesus with others. He worked for Marshall Motor Co., LTV Aerospace & Defense-Missiles Division in Grand Prairie, and General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, where he received an award in Budget Management. He was a member of Toastmasters International where he achieved competent Toastmaster status. About 20 years ago, as his father's health began to decline, Dale moved back to Marshall to participate in Joe's life. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Marshall and was ordained a deacon at First Baptist Marshall in 1981. His hobbies included radio-controlled airplanes, ping pong and he especially enjoyed swing dance. He is survived by his sister, Donna Golding Burton and husband, Tom of Dallas. Cousins are Gary Britton of Marshall; David Britton and wife, Pat; Susan Britton and husband, Keith and their daughter, Brittany, all of Greensboro, NC and Deborah Kay Basham Burns and husband, Tommy of San Antonio, TX. He was married from 1978-1992 to Joan Hammond of Ft. Worth and Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to First Baptist Church, 405 W. Austin Street, Marshall, Texas 75670.
