Colin Blake Reel, a man defined by his unwavering dedication and a heart full of humor, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2025, just one day shy of his 48th birthday. His quiet departure leaves a profound void in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Born in Longview on August 30, 1977, to Sam and Phebe Reel, Colin's life was a testament to his kind and generous spirit. He built a beautiful life grounded in love with his wife, Amanda, and their son, Caden, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his parents; his sister, Angi McMichael and her husband Eric; his brother, Colby Reel; his father-in-law, Jimmy Lane; his sisters-in-law, Tammy Lane, Sandy Callaway, and Kara Mjolhus; and a wide circle of cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.

For 28 years, Colin was a pillar of his community as a paramedic with CHRISTUS EMS, formerly Champion EMS. His career was more than a job; it was a calling. Known for his steadfast compassion and commitment, he touched countless lives not only as a medic but also as a supervisor, mentor, and a trusted friend. He approached every challenge with a quiet competence and a caring heart, leaving a lasting legacy of service.

Beyond his professional life, Colin was a man who knew how to find joy in the simple moments. With a quick wit and a quirky sense of humor, he was often the one to lighten a room with a joke. He cherished friendly competition, whether it was a round of cards or a board game with family and friends. A devoted fan of the Texas Rangers, he loved nothing more than a day spent cheering on his team. His happiest times were often spent on a beach, where he could relax with a margarita and enjoy the simple beauty of the coast with those he loved most.

Colin's legacy is one of compassion, humor, and a life well-lived. While he will be deeply missed, the memories of his kindness and his infectious laugh will continue to bring comfort to his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Colin's name to the American Cancer Society, continuing his spirit of service by helping others.
