Her work career included in some capacity clerical, office manager, and human resource director with General Telephone Company, Hughes AirCraft in Los Angeles, California and Quantimetrix Corporation in Redondo Beach, California. She, also, sang for charity to lift up others spiritually through song and giving thanks for the many blessings bestowed in her life. She united with True Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on February 24, 1980. During her tenure at True Friendship, she was a member of the church choir and the Voices of True Friendship. Ms. Cooper was also an integral part of the Women's Ministry and the Mission Society. She conjoined with church ministries (Galilee Baptist Church of Longview) and praise ministries (Women Worshiping God through Music and Church of Marshall Praise Team) intermittently between her East Texas and California venue. Upon her final return to East Texas, Ms. Cooper joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas where the Reverend Steve Miller is Pastor. Ms. Cooper served in the capacities of Church Clerk and a member of the church choir. Her ultimate desire was to be laid to rest by her son Byron in Inglewood, California.
