Carol Lee Mayo, 69, of Gladewater, TX, entered eternal life peacefully on Saturday, 12 April 2025. She was born in Corning, NY, and grew up in New York and Oklahoma. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and her master's degree from the University of Texas, Dallas. She was an avid animal lover. As a child an equestrian and as an adult she cared for many Golden Retrievers, Labradors and many mixed breeds. She was a devoted wife and mother to two stepsons she loved as her own. She and Bruce moved from the Dallas area to Eustace, TX on Cedar Creek Lake early in their marriage. Carol Lee had a long career in technology. She taught technology courses at Trinidad High school, over saw the Longview School District Wi-Fi network, and spent many years integrating technology into the Dallas Catholic Diocese Schools. After retirement she became an active walker and competed in many half-marathons throughout the US. She also spent many hours volunteering at a local food bank, with her church and Kairos Prison Ministry. Carol Lee and Bruce moved to Gladewater in 2021. Carol Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Bruce Mayo. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, two stepsons, Bruce Patrick Mayo, Austin, TX; Christopher Mayo, Palm City, FL; one brother, Alex Callander, Denison, TX; one sister, Gail Bernstein, Fort Myers, FL; one friend/caregiver, Julie Hicks, Longview, TX; and a host of other friends. The family would like to thank everyone for their help and support in this sad time. Private arrangements are being made.
