Bruce Stephen Mayo

Bruce Stephen Mayo, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on July 4, 1948, Bruce's life was marked by creativity, dedication, and a warmth that touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 32 years, Carol Mayo, his son Bruce Mayo, his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Jenn Mayo, and his grandchildren Connolly and Keelyn Mayo, along with his favorite dog Bogey.

Bruce held two master's degrees, one in Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University and another in Education from Kansas State College. For many years, he worked as a self-employed potter, a craft that reflected his passion for artistry and hands-on creativity. Later in life, he joined FedEx, where his reliability and work ethic shone as brightly as his humor and generosity.

An avid golfer, Bruce cherished his time on the green, where he could often be found sharing his favorite jokes and stories. He will be remembered for his love of laughter, his devotion to family and friends, and his zest for life.

Bruce will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center.
