Brendyn Coy Hopper, aka B-Hop, was born on October 7, 2003, in Longview, Texas. Brendyn's journey was one filled with love, laughter, and the kind of positive energy that was contagious. On September 21, 2014, Brendyn made the most important decision of his life by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was reborn. Sadly, his journey came to an unexpected end on June 7, 2024, in his home in Hallsville, Texas.
Born to proud parents Kelly Woods and Jason Hopper, Brendyn was cherished by his family which, through the years, grew to include his stepfather Teddy Woods and stepmother Elizabeth Hopper. Brendyn's grandparents, who cherished him deeply, include Gail McCoy, the late Kenneth McCoy, Carl Kilman, Marian Fonner, the late Billy Hopper, Debbie Woods, and Ted & Kathy Woods, along with Charles & Marla Rhodes. Brendyn was admired by his siblings-Lanie Woods, Malarie Hopper, Treston Hopper, Addisyn Hopper, and Riverlynn Hopper- as they shared in the adventures and misadventures that only a brother like Brendyn could create.
To know Brendyn was to love him. Brendyn took the world by storm with his unconditional love, kindness, and loyalty. The amount of respect and empathy he embodied was boundless. He was the kind of guy who could find a silver lining in any cloud, and if he couldn't find one, he'd draw it himself with a sharpie!
In addition to his love, kindness, and loyalty, Brendyn's work ethic was apparent in his dedication to his job in construction, working alongside his father for some time. He was not only an accomplished concrete finisher but he also excelled at operating heavy machinery, showcasing his impressive skill set and determination at a young age.
Brendyn was a dreamer who excelled at anything he put his mind to, be it music, playing 2k, Fortnite, or Rocket League with his crew online. He loved playing basketball, fishing, and cooking up a mean meal in the kitchen. Brendyn lived for the moments spent with his friends. He was the life of the party, the first to crack a joke, and the last to stop smiling, ensuring that everyone around him was having a good time.
Brendyn's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the pure joy of living in the moment. His ability to see the good in others and to dream big will continue to inspire those he left behind. As we bid farewell to Brendyn, we celebrate the time we were gifted with his incredible spirit. His memory will be treated as a reminder of the profound impact one's life can have on so many.
He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend. He may have left us too soon, but the echoes of his laughter and the memories made will last a lifetime. We can all find comfort in knowing that the love, laughter, and mischief will continue on as he has now been reunited with his Papaw Billy, Papa Skinny, and beloved friend Rylo.
We take solace in knowing that Brendyn's journey continues beyond this world and that his light will never fade from the hearts of those who loved him. But his spirit will continue to inspire us to live with the same passion and love that he did every single day. So, thank you Brendyn, for teaching us that life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful-it just needs to be lived with love, laughter, and a little bit of mischief.
