Life Story

Brenda Kay Browder, a cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023. Born on March 5, 1946, in Longview, Brenda lived a life filled with faith, love, and kindness. Her warm spirit and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The daughter of the late Emory and Una Bob Barton, Brenda grew up alongside her sisters, Jane Hunter and Carol Sims. Her childhood was filled with precious memories that she carried with her throughout her life.

Brenda was the proud mother of Steven Browder, who is married to Denise. She found immeasurable joy in her role as a mother, and later, as a grandmother "Mazy" to Grace and Shane Browder. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, from her unwavering support to her enduring pride in their accomplishments. The special bond she shared with her grandchildren was truly heartwarming. She loved holiday traditions, especially making gingerbread houses and sugar cookies.

A faith-filled woman, Brenda held strong to her beliefs throughout her life. She found solace and strength in her faith, and it was a constant source of inspiration for her. Her deep love for Jesus was at the heart of who she was, and it guided her in every step she took. In her final years, she attended Mobberly Baptist Church and Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

A woman of simple pleasures, Brenda enjoyed the company of her best friends over a good lunch, sharing stories, laughter and creating memories. These moments of companionship brought her immense joy as her friends were her extended family, and she treasured these bonds deeply.

In the words of Brenda herself, "Love one another, believe in the goodness of people, and hold strong to your faith." Her life was a testament to these words, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were touched by her love and faith.

As we say goodbye to Brenda, we take comfort in knowing that her love and faith live on in those she has left behind. She has joined her beloved parents in eternal rest but will forever remain in our hearts. May her soul rest in peace.

As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 26 at 10 am at Welch Funeral Home.
