Billy Edward Arrington

Billy (Bill) Edward Arrington was born in Breckenridge, Texas on July 23, 1930 to Alva Marion and Cleo Buena Arrington. Bill passed away on September 6, 2023 at the age of 93 surrounded by his family.

Bill graduated from Gaston High School where he played football and skipped school every now and then to go fishing. After graduation, he moved to Longview and began working for the Longview News Journal as a pressman in the pressroom. Bill retired from the newspaper after 50 years of loyal service.

Bill enjoyed fishing, watching sports (especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers) and whatever his grandchildren were involved in. Bill was a great and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Those surviving Bill are his wife, Vadie Arrington of 69 years, two daughters, Dawn Stone (Keith) of Frisco, Angela Paramore (Donald) of Longview. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters, Wanda Berry of Bryan, Texas and Linda Novosel of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Bill was a Christian and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for many years.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
