Beverly Ann Tate, age 88, died with her children by her side on March 3, 2024, in her home in Longview, Texas. Beverly was born on July 31, 1935 in Quay, Oklahoma, to Eppsie and Blanche (Stafford) Bullard, the seventh of eight children. She was Mom to Chris (Mark) Foster, Kathy (Danny) Kieffer, Vince (Lisa) Tate and Clay Tate. She was Grannie Bev to six granddaughters, Jae, Jaime, Sarah, Jessie, Paige and Mackenzie, three grandsons, C.K., Justin and Khristopher and seven great-grandchildren, Colton, Jacquie, Alyvia, Ashtyn, Lyla, Hayes and soon-to-arrive Baby Girl Tate. Mom held many clerical jobs during her life, but the most rewarding job was that of owner/operator of Leliawood Flowers in Longview. After her retirement, she volunteered in the gift shop at Good Shepherd Hospital. Mom was a true giver of her time, energy and unending affection to her family and friends. Mom is survived by her children, grandchildren and sister, Patricia Lehrling. Visitation will be held at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, Longview, Texas on March 6, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Grayville, Illinois, on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests no flowers or plants, but invites memorial contributions in memory of Beverly Tate to HeartsWay Hospice Hospice of Northeast Texas, P.O. Box 5608, Longview, TX 75608.
Bev's children had instructions to use the following poem in this announcement. As all of us know, her instructions are always to be followed!
AFTER GLOW
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.
