Betty Shore Life Story

Betty Lee Shore left her earthly home on June 3, 2021, with her family by her side to join God her Heavenly Father and beloved family members. Betty was born October 14, 1932, to Foster and Ella “Bobby” Bean. Betty attended Kilgore High School and North Texas University.

Betty’s great grandparents moved to the East Texas and settled in Rusk County in 1846. Her paternal ancestors were descendants of the Cherokee Nation, something that Betty was very proud of. Her father was born in Rusk County on July 27, 1903. Betty’s Mother was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. An avid lover of history, Betty was very proud of her rich American ancestry. Fall was her favorite time of the year. She loved the beautiful colors of Fall along with the crisp Fall air.

Betty married her High School sweetheart, William “Bill” Shore, affectionately called Daddy Bill on May 26, 1952. They raised their four children in Kilgore, Texas and celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Betty loved God, family and country. She was affectionately known as Nan and loved spending time with her family. Known for her deep abiding faith, Betty was a devoted prayer warrior for her family, friends and her beloved country, America.

Though Nan will be greatly missed, and thought of often, her memory and legacy of faith, love of family and love of country, will carry on thru her family and will forever live in our hearts.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Foster and Bobby Bean and her beloved husband, Bill.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Jeanie Kuers her husband, Bill; Sharanne LaBarge, her husband Doyle Lawhorn; Sharlotte Shore; her Son, Rick Shore his wife Leslie as well as six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger sisters, Pat Harrison and Jane Henley. Betty’s heart was especially touched by the love and concerns shown by her sisters. Betty is survived by her brother-in-law, Ronnie Shore and his wife Jan. Mother was sincerely touched by their love and kindness over the years.

Mother will be forever grateful for her dear friend of many years, Sandra Holley, and for the friendship of warm and caring Kathy Craver. They were sunshine, love and joy in her life. “Be sweet and darling” my dear friends.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. A Life Celebration service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home.
