Betty Sue Lavender Hain, lovingly known as Betty or Mother, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 85, in Marshall, TX. Born on December 18, 1939, in Gilmer, TX, Betty embodied a life of devotion, warmth, and kindness that touched all who knew her. She was a beacon of love and selflessness, leaving a legacy of cherished memories for her family and friends.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved parents, Horace Randolph Lavender and Clyda Barker Lavender, as well as her dear daughters, Susan Elizabeth Lavender and Julia Ann Denney. Her spirit is carried on by her adoring family, including her sons, Samuel Ray Lavender, John Wesley Hain, and Jerry Lamar Hain; daughters-in-law, Dawn Renae Hain and Patricia "Donna" Hain; and her precious granddaughters, Megan Hain Branum and Brittaney Hain, along with many great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
A proud graduate of Marshall High School, Betty went on to serve her community through various roles. Her career journey included positions as a secretary at United Gas, a teller at Marshall Federal Savings & Loan, a receptionist for Marshall Lab, and a telephone operator for Marshall Wal-Mart. Betty's professional life was marked by her dedication, reliability, and the warm greeting she offered to everyone she encountered.
Betty's zest for life was evident in her unwavering love for her sons, and the joy she found in spending time with her grandchildren. She was the embodiment of loving kindness, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her thoughtful nature was a comfort to those around her, and her selfless actions were a testament to her character.

Visitation for Betty, will be held at The Cammack Family Directors of Funerals located at 100 E. Travis St., Marshall on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
