Born April 21, 1928 to William Franklin and Eddie Ross Anderson of Mansfield, LA. She married the love of her life, Huey P. Harris of Olla, LA, on November 6, 1949. During their 31 years together, they loved to travel. Following her husband in the oil and gas industry, they found adventure living in various places around Mississippi and Louisiana, before making Marshall, TX their final home. Bea is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Harris Head (Eddie G. Head) of Fulshear, TX, granddaughters Angela Head Risley (Jason N. Risley) of Fulshear, TX, and Christi Head Zumo (Timothy Zumo) of Gonzales, LA, and great-grandchildren Morgan E. Risley, Genevieve F. Zumo, Avery K. Risley, and Paxton K. Zumo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bea's faith in God was unwavering. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Marshall, TX for over 40 years. She was actively involved in her Sunday school class and made numerous trips with the church's Wise Old Owls (WOO) choir. She had a servant's heart and enjoyed donating her time and crafty creations to others. She utilized her gifted talents including sewing, crocheting, cross-stitch, floral and wreath arrangements, and painting for other's enjoyment and special occasions. Giving to others brought her great joy. She loved volunteering and logged many hours as a Pink Lady at the Christus Good Shepherd hospital in Marshall, TX. As a volunteer, she could be found in the gift shop or hand-making tray favors that were distributed to patients spending their holidays in the hospital. Her tray favors were submitted in area competitions and received numerous awards. Bea is preceded in death by her husband and parents. She was also preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses: Linwood (Mary Alice) Anderson, Charles (Merb) Anderson, Lottie (William "Bill") Robertson, Marcelle (James T.) Watson, Betty (Walter) McElroy, Dorothy (Alvin) Smith, Virginia Anderson, and Patsy (Cardis) Lambert. Thank you to the compassionate caregivers at Marshall Manor, Summer Meadows, the numerous sitters, and Hospice of East Texas. Also, a special thank you to Brenda Robertson, niece from Longview, TX, for being with her daily and providing extra care during her transition from life on earth to her eternal life with Jesus Christ in heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas.
