Ann Stanfield Life Story

Ann Kathleen Stanfield went to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on October 15, 2020. Ann was born in Oakland, California and was raised in Mountain View, California by her loving parents Paul and Lillian Crawford with her brother John.

Ann loved sports and enjoyed playing powder puff football as a student at Awalt High School in Mountain View, California. Ann became a Christian at 19 years old and was led to Christ by her future husband Mike. They were later married in 1975 at First Presbyterian Church in Anaheim, California. Ann served as a homemaker and mother to her only daughter Amy. Ann loved to cook pies and bake cookies from her mother’s family recipes. Ann also enjoyed working as a secretary at two schools in Lewisville ISD and for 19 years worked as Technology Department secretary at Hallsville ISD. Nothing brought Ann more joy in life than to be by the side of her husband helping him with his many projects. She loved her husband dearly and helped him tirelessly fight cancer until his passing in 2018. Ann’s infectious joyful spirit was enjoyed by all as she brought encouragement to everyone she met. Ann was a skilled seamstress and quilter and often sewed costumes for Amy and Mike’s many plays and performances! Ann enjoyed spending time sewing baby quilts for friends and families. Ann also loved working in her flower garden planting day lilies.

In 2015, Ann was diagnosed with early onset dementia, but continued to love and care for her family and friends with an open and full heart. Even though her mind was slowly deteriorating, her heart and love for others seemed to shine brighter each day. Ann thoroughly enjoyed attending her church and Sunday school class every week and was a passionate prayer warrior. No matter how her brain changed, one thing remained: Ann’s love for Jesus Christ and her love for people.
Ann passed from this life following complications from a hip injury. Even in the midst of her struggle, she continued to shower her hospital nurses with God’s love.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Paul Crawford; and her husband Mike of 43 years. Ann’s memory will be cherished by her only daughter Amy Stanfield Doron and her husband Anthony Doron of Hallsville; and Ann’s brother John Crawford of Orange, California; and many additional family and friends.
