Amie Berniece Hawkins

A Life Celebration® funeral service for Amie Berniece Hawkins, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 30th, 2023, in The Garden Court of The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home. The family also invites friends to join them for Visitation on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. She was born on March 16, 1937, to Thomas & Amie Carlisle in Longview, Texas and passed away on January 24, 2023 in Tyler, Texas.

On June 18, 1954, Berniece married Morris Ray Hawkins in Longview, Texas. She and our Pops spent many years doing wood work and traveling to arts & crafts shows in the ArkLaTex area. They thoroughly enjoyed this time together, always taking at least a few grandkids along. Nanny enjoyed cooking for family any day of the week and was called "Nanny" by more than just her biological grandchildren.

Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and a great granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Danah Kay, of Longview; son, Theron Hawkins, of Ore City; grandchildren, Lori Riley McAdams; Casey Hawkins; Dustin Riley; Ashley Riley; Jayde Hawkins; Jessica Hawkins Jones; and Colton Hawkins. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and special lifelong friend and sister in law, Pat Hawkins.
