Following his military tenure, Alton pursued further education in Texarkana, TX, where he laid the groundwork for a successful career.
Professionally, Alton was known for his intelligence and passion. He spent 17 years with Southland Corporation, where he excelled as an area supervisor and regional buyer until the departure of 7-11 from the area. His career continued to flourish as he went on to work for Orkin, Sears, and Home Depot, where his dedication and expertise were highly valued.
Alton's life was a tapestry woven with love for his family and unwavering faith. He shared a beautiful 39-year marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Goff. Alton's love extended beyond his immediate family to his four-legged companions. His dogs were a source of joy and comfort, always at his side through the ups and downs of life. His affinity for the beach was well-known among his loved ones; the tranquility of the ocean waves and the warmth of the sun reflected the peace and contentment he found in life's simple pleasures.
