Wallace Chapman Life Story

Wallace Dean Chapman passed away November 11, 2019 at his residence in Longview, Texas at the age of 94. He was the husband of Gloria Carlin Chapman. They shared 64 years of marriage together.
Born in Jena, Louisiana on March 11, 1925, he was the son of Daniel Elijah Chapman and Nellie Peyton Chapman. He was a graduate of Enterprise High School and Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. He was a teacher and high school administrator in Catahoula Parish Louisiana as well as Daingerfield ISD in Daingerfield, Texas. He was a United States military veteran serving overseas in World War II in the Army Air Corp.
He was a deacon at Larto Baptist Church in Larto Louisiana. He was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work for many years. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He possessed many “fruits of the spirit” including love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Chapman, his children Bobby Chapman and his wife Susan of Longview, Texas, Peggy Speer and her husband Mike Speer of Haynesville, Louisiana, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Cedric Chapman of Pineville, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers.
Services are planned for Thursday November 14th at Larto Baptist Church with visitation at 1 pm followed by a service at 2 pm followed by graveside service at Palo Alto Cemetery at Mayna, Louisiana.
