Shirley Ann Liddell, 66, of Houston, TX, passed away on June 16, 2019 in Longview, TX.
Visitation will be 6PM-8PM Thursday June 20, 2019 at Welch Funeral Home 4619 Judson Rd Longview, TX.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday June 21, 2019 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church 2105 E Loop 281, Longview, TX with Pastor Charles Hunt Woodland Hills Baptist Church, officiating.
Shirley was born in Houston, TX to Kirby Branch and Burl D. Himes on May 7, 1953. She was a dedicated police/ems dispatcher for over 20 years with the City of Longview police and fire department where she received many accolades including Supervisor of the Year. After retirement Shirley worked for Wal Mart in Longview and Kilgore. She was involved in numerous organizations but mostly known for her dedication to the Alzheimer’s group she assisted with at Unforgettable Tuesdays held at Greggton United Methodist Church. Her most important roll to everyone though was Greatest Mimi of all Time.
Mimi enjoyed every moment of her life specifically her time with her family. She was devoted to her faith and was recently baptized. Mimi would want everyone to know how happy and blessed she was. She will be remembered for so many different things for each and everyone of us but everyone will remember how loving and giving she was. Mimi loved her impromptu camping trips to the beach in her “Mimi Van” and taking the grandkids and great-grandkids on wild adventures. We all know her love for Coca-Cola and Mickey Mouse could not out-weigh the love for her family but her house described her whimsical personality. She will be missed more than these words can ever describe and will be remembered forever in hearts.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother Burl D Himes, her father Kirby Branch, and her brother Preston Branch.
Shirley is survived by her son and his wife Kirby and Tisa DeLoach and her daughter Texanna Cook and her husband Patrick Lopez. Her brother David Branch. Her grandchildren Nikki Korolevich and husband Jose Moreno, Gage DeLoach, Justin and Brook DeLoach, Tanner Cornell, Lillian DeLoach, Lainee Cornell and Kysan DeLoach. Her great-grandchildren Kaiden Korolevich, Rowan Moreno, Baylee DeLoach and Isabelle DeLoach. Her nephew and his wife Preston Branch and Heather Wooldridge, and niece Ashley Branch.
The family of Shirley Liddell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to our extended family and friends that helped Shirley in celebrating her amazing life both in life and in death.
