Nicolasa Livas

Nicolasa “Nica” Livas, 84, drew her last earthly breath on May 23, 2019, in Longview, Texas and was welcomed into her heavenly home by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her two beautiful daughters, Assenette Livas and Marianna Reynoso, who preceded her in
death.

Born March 22, 1935 in Taylor, Texas to Alejandro and Marianna Reyna, Nicolasa was second to the oldest of thirteen children. At the age of 16, she married the love of her life, Ruben Livas on November 22, 1951, one week after meeting him. Together they
raised a beautiful family of twelve children, five boys and seven girls. She wholly devoted her life to serving her family and her God. Through the years, she faithfully attended church, working in various ministries which include teaching the Girls-in-Action
class and serving as the Ladies Ministry leader. She truly enjoyed life and loved watching baseball, reading her Bible, listening to Elvis Presley, and making music with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her quick laugh, listening ear, and her
kind and generous servant’s heart.

Nicolasa is survived by her husband, Ruben; their children, Irene Clowers, Ruben Livas, Jr., Robert Livas, Irma Camacho, Anthony Livas, Inez Como, Joel Livas, Noemi McDaniel, Reynaldo Livas, and Jovita Evans; along with their spouses, thirty-seven grandchildren and forty-seven great-grandchildren.

All are welcome to attend a Life Celebration Memorial for Nicolasa in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Her ashes will be laid to rest at Rosewood Park Cemetery on Friday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Mobberly Baptist Church.
