Michael Campbell Life Story

Mike Campbell, age 76, passed away peacefully in his daughter’s arms on February 28, 2019 in Longview, Texas. He was born on August 8, 1942 in Longview, Texas where he lived his whole life. He proudly served 13 years in the United States Army. After leaving the United States Army, he worked for Continental Can, partner at Southwest Oil Co., Calidad, Wal-Mart, and BJ Services. He then retired to become a full time boxing coach and a mentor to kids of all ages.
He lived an amazing life dedicating his life to his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening his whole life and loved to go fishing every chance he had. He was such a loving Daddy, PaPa, Brother, Uncle, and an amazing friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Campbell and Jimmie Carlyne Hearn and his grandson Jace Baggett.
Survived by his brother James Thomas Campbell and sister-in-law Linda C. Campbell, son Troy Maddux, son Michael Baggett and daughter-in-law Leigh Baggett, daughter Christy Balistreri, daughter Shelly Saxon and son-in-law Phillip Saxon, son Johnny Baggett and daughter-in-law Annisa Baggett. Grandchildren: Chae Balistreri, Auriel Carly Balistreri, Mandy Saxon, Jesse Boyd and granddaughter-in-law Emily Boyd, Joseph Saxon, Brooklynn Boyd, Nevaeh Baggett, Jaxon Baggett, Joshua Saxon, Kaytlynn Saxon, Baylee Baggett, Brylee Boyd. Niece, Jamie Campbell Turner. Nephews, James Michael Campbell and Charles Campbell.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 between 2 pm – 4 pm at Welch Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. We will be celebrating Mike Campbell’s life on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 10 am for the funeral services at Welch Funeral Home in Longview, Texas.
