Lucille (Slaid) Croley

Lucille S. Croley was born on October 28, 1918, in Stanley, Louisiana to A. W. and Hallie Slaid. She married J. E. Croley and to this union two children were born. Lucille was a secretary for major oil companies and retired from Stroh's Brewery in 1984. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed reading, playing bridge, travel, and spending time with her family as well as her many friends at Buckner Westminster Place.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Owens and son-in-law, Dave; son, Jim Croley and daughter-in-law, Holly as well as grandchildren, Kristi Owens and Kelly Stringer, Keri Owens, Charles Croley, and Carolyn Croley.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. A Life Celebration service will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home.
