Janell Loye Worsham McDonald will be remembered as a warm ray of sunshine and everybody’s “MawMaw”. She was born June 2, 1933 in Tillman County, Oklahoma to Lillie Schreiner and Leonard Watson. After Mr. Watson’s early death, Lillie married Horace J. Lindsey who became “Daddy” to Janell. She left this world March 21, 2019 in Longview, Texas surrounded by her family. Mrs. McDonald will be missed by her family and the many people she touched throughout her life’s journey.
In her early years, she was a homemaker and beauty operator and assisted her late husband William O. “Bud” Worsham with his service station. Janell was also active as a member of the Eastern Star. After raising her children she joyfully spent her time as owner of the Crazy Lady Boutique and Encore dress shops. Janell loved all things outdoors including golfing, water-skiing, and fishing. She was also known to kick up her heels on the dance floor and slide in for a strike at the bowling alley. Her final years were spent enjoying Lake Cherokee and cheering on the Lobos.
Left to cherish many memories are her husband Charles “Mike” McDonald and children, Warren Worsham and wife Charleen, Stacey Worsham and wife Kim Webb, brother Gary Don Lindsey and wife Terrie Lindsey, sister Joy Lowe, grandchildren Amanda Kay Worsham-Dunaway and husband Chad Dunaway, Emily Ann Worsham, Katie and Michael Garcia, Allison and Andy Williams, her great-grandson Gunner Gray Williams, and countless other loving family members who meant the world to her.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, March 24 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Life Celebration funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Perkins officiating. A private burial will immediately follow in Gum Springs Cemetery.
A special thank you is extended to the staff at Longview Regional Hospital for their tender care during her final days.
