Jacob Dotson or “Dotson” as he was often referred to; was born June 11, 1987 to Jeff Dotson and Colleen Parker, and passed away July 5, 2019. He was a follower of Christ, husband, father, son, brother, and best friend. The man, the myth, the legend always lead with love and wisdom will take his place at the feet of our Lord to help guide us through this life. Dotson was the life of every room, had an argument for every topic (seriously every topic) and a coupon for every restaurant in Longview. He once convinced 20 people to have their senior prom dinner at Olive Garden because he had gift card to covered his meal. (You can only imagine the awkwardness we all felt when he did that) He was best known for being a devoted family man, loyal friend, and for being extremely spontaneous. He loved science, and doing unconventional experiments just to win a bet with someone. If you ever played monopoly or golf with him, you saw his high level of competitiveness mixed with his strong dislike of losing. In all seriousness, Jacob was an amazing person that will be loved and missed by many. His kids were lucky enough to see his determination and hard work pay off when he bought their farmhouse with land. He was a proud graduate of Hallsville High School, class of 2005; and a dedicated employee at Delek. He is preceded in death by his Pawpaw, Elmo Dotson; his Mamaw, Mary Muntz; and his grandfather Tommy Lyons. He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Sarah, and three gorgeous (thanks to his wife) children Judson, Lainey, and Gentry. Also surviving Jacob are his parents; mother Colleen Parker, and father Jeff Dotson, along with wife Pam; siblings, brother Taylor Dotson, sister Kelcee Dotson, and sister Audrey Kelley and husband Shawn; grandparents, his Mimi, Judy Kettlehut, and husband Jack, and Ernest Muntz; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and his best friend whose name starts with a J. Honorary pallbearers (alphabetically) are “The Boys”
Honorary pallbearers (alphabetically) are “The Boys: Jacob Palmer, Jacob Payne, James Fillmore, Jesse Watson, John Crumpton, J’Kevin Thomas, J’Kyle Dunn, and J’Ponce Deleon. “I thank my God every time I remember you” Philippians 1:3 NIV
