Gay Hudspeth Muston left her life on thus earth on April 17, 2019, and went to live in her heavenly home. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home.
She was born on April 16, 1935, to Dr. Graydon and Louise Hudspeth. She prayed to meet a merciful God, Jesus, and the members of her family who meant so much to her and who gave her so much love and care. She attended school in Arkansas and Mississippi and graduated from high school in St. Charles, Missouri. She was registered as a scholarship student at Lindenwood College for Women, in St. Charles when her mother died suddenly a month before her graduation. Her dear cousins, Frances and John Wayne Daugherty, invited her to attend the summer with them and their children, Carol and Denny, in Longview. She accepted, heard about Kilgore College and the Rangerettes and decided to become a Texan. She loved being a Rangerette; it was a happy time. Shortly after college she met Robert Muston Jr., and they were married in 1955. They welcomed Scott Graydon on March 3, 1957, and Blakely Nelson on August 24, 1960. They went on many fishing and camping trips and enjoyed all the boys sports events.
She came from a musical family and loved music of all kinds. She loved to travel; she and Bob traveled extensively in the U.S. She went to England twice. She loved painting, and hours spent in painting class were priceless. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. How precious all her dogs were to her, such innocent and loyal creatures cannot be left out. Rusty, Peanuts, Rip, Puddin. Pearl, Dixie, Sophie, Bella, Buster. The family would like to thank the doctors who helped our mother over the years with such care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the Texas Star Rescue, P.O. Box 1175, Hallsville, Texas 75650.
