Charles "Henry" Smith age. 82, of Harleton, Texas passed away on June 12, 2019 in Longview, Texas. He was born on February 27, 1937 in Harleton to Henrietta and Charles E. Smith.
In his younger years, Henry was a race car driver, a pipe Line rigger, and one good prankster! He showered his loved ones with jokes and teasing. Everyone looked forward to "uncle Henry's" visits. You never had a clue what to expect, but he always left a smile on your face. He was "Once" a motorcyclist! The look on his mothers face when he blew through grand avenue on his bike was priceless. Needless to say, that was THE LAST TIME we saw him on a motorcycle.
Henry was a hard worker. He was the superintendent of construction at Petro chemical plants for over 30 years. He was the Jack of all trades. He loved to tinker with his tractors, lawn mowers, and chainsaws. He could fix anything. He could break anything as well! He taught Eric the value of hard work and respect for the job. As well as anyone that worked for him. He used to say to Eric, "Boy! The only reason to miss a day of work, is your own funeral!" Friends and family could always call on him. He was there to help with any need...or...not to miss a good laugh. He touched our lives in so many ways. He had a unique way to show his genuine love for his loved ones. As age slowed him down, we we're all there to keep him on his steady path to make sure He found his way home. Today we can remember him with a happy heart. On June12th, at 12:16pm, our husband, father, friend found his way home.
Henry is survived by his wife Judy Marie Kuhn Smith, son Eric Henry Smith of Harleton, step daughters Tabatha (Shanon) Morris of Harleton, Cyndi (Larry) Andrews-Renfro of Daingerfield, step son John (Lacey) Johnson of Wathena KS, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother Larry Scott (Sherry) Smith, Of Longview, and sister Ann (JT) Clark of Harleton,
He is proceeded in death by both his parents, the siblings Clarence Edwin, JT Smith, Etta Cecilia, and wife Linda Smith
