Billy Weaver age 85 of Longview, Texas left this world with a sound mind and a broken body. He passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at his home. Billy spent the last years of his life fighting illness and pain. He was born on April 12, 1933, in Florence, South Carolina to John and Maude Weaver.
Billy's early life was spent in North and South Carolina. He moved to Texas in 1949 to be with his mother, sister and brother. He entered the United States Air Force in 1951 and spent eight years as an Airman. Later, he worked as a furniture salesman in Dallas. He moved to Longview in 1972. He worked as a sales contractor and owned and operated furniture stores in Longview, Tyler and Shreveport. Billy retired in 2005; and after a few years left retirement to work part-time as assistant activities director at the Green Street Rec. Center. There he met and married the love of his life LaDaughn. After his 2nd retirement, he spent his last years with a loving wife and a happy home. They enjoyed hobbies, flowers, vegetable gardening, and fellowship with family and friends.
The family would like to thank family and friends for the help and support they provided. Many thanks to the Life Care Hospice Team. Billy is survived by his wife, LaDaughn Weaver; two siblings, Peggy Weaver Bishop and Robin Weaver, many nieces and nephews, his church family at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Avenger and New Covenant in Longview.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
